Funnyman Barry Hilton will reel audiences in, hook, line and sinker with his Fresh Catch show in East London on 19 and 20 February this year.
Fans are in for a real treat as he chums out his hilarious impressions and observations on a host of social, political and family issues. Barry’s new found passion of fishing and enjoying the great outdoors inspired the show’s name and allows for his quick-witted ‘Throw me a line’ segment.
Undoubtedly one of South Africa’s favourite comedians, Barry’s well timed humour appeals to all ages and walks of life. He performs an average of 150 shows a year in South Africa and well beyond our borders; with this phenomenal success it's no surprise that he's been in the business for 27 years.
Barry is renowned not only for his comedy, but also for starring in commercials (really funny ones) and giving them a certain sense of South African-ness. “The Cousin” has also featured in several television shows and his work has been captured on DVD and CD and they have sold extremely well. Being a prolific writer, Barry pens all his own material, including music, and his performances evolve constantly – much to the delight of his audiences. So if you feel like you need to laugh or even cry with laughter, find your way to the Guild Theatre on 19 and 20 February. Tickets for the show, which starts at 19:30 on both nights and are priced at R100, are available through The Guild: 043 743 0704 or elguild@mweb.co.za.
